We have been at the Fernleigh for 7 years now and the walks from our front door are delightful. Open moorland, the highest sea cliffs in England, forests, water-falls, rivers and views that are spiritual. We have a large herd of wild goats in the Valley of Rocks. Red deer and Exmoor ponies on the moors along with lots of sheep.
If you prefer you can see all this from the car or maybe even horse back, if walking is not for you.
The charming village of Lynton, perched 600ft. above the sea, is favoured with excellent views of the moors and wooded valleys. Below, the waters of the East and West Lyn rivers converge at Lynmouth and both villages are joined by an old-world water operated cliff railway.
Regular boat trips leave from Lynmouth harbour exploring the Heritage Coast, the highest sea cliffs in England. Gently cruise past colonies of razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes and other sea birds and enjoy some of the finest scenery England has to offer.
There are also plenty of good quality shops, cafes and restaurants along with some lovely gardens to visit. There are many churches, National Trust houses, places of interest and tourist attractions.
Whether you want activity, relaxation, de-stressing, exploring Exmoor or a combination of all, the Fernleigh makes a great base for your stay.
